Have you tried to eat a exotic foods? I know it's gross but some of exotic foods have nutrients.
Many exotic foods in the Philippines but some of them are really really disgusting.

For me and my group, we choose this 4 exotics foods which is the best but not all of them we tasted . 
This 4 exotic dish is very popular in some of the places in the Philippines.


1. Kamaru


"Kamaru" or Mole Crickets

These creepy-looking insects which is call kamaru or mole crickets. Some refer to them as rice field crickets since they are found mostly on rice fields. They basically feed themselves with the rice grains and leaves. These insects are packed with protein and B vitamins and a lot of people love eating them. 

2. Uok


"Uok" or Coconut Worm

Uok is basically a coconut rhinoceros beetle larva which can be found in dead coconut logs. This fat, yucky worm can be eaten raw just like what the natives do in the forest. This creepy creature is best when cooked in adobo style which is called "Adobong Uok" served with rice and tomatoes is considered an exotic delicacy. Uok offers a good source of protein, calcium and iron and is in fact an excellent source of nutrition comparable to rice.

3. Tamilok


"Tamilok" or Woodenworm

Tamilok is a mangrove worm that is not exactly a worm. Although it looks like one, it is actually a mangrove-boring mollusk. They say it's slimy and salty but if you marinate in a mixture of vinegar, chili and onions and will be delicious. Tamilok usually bores into wooden structures and mangroves. Palawan's natural resources boosts of large areas.
Eating a tamilok also means munching on pests because these creatures destroys every wood they come across, giving them the name termites of the sea”.

4. Salagubang


"Salagubang" or June Bug

Salagubang or June Bug, is a common treat in 
Nueva Ecija, where many of these beetles thrive. Would cooked this beetle into dried adobo, ginisa, deep-fried or roasted and served as pulutan.
